February is the new January!
There is such pressure to have your whole year mapped out in January but I feel sometimes that is difficult to do. In January you are playing catch up after time off in December for Christmas not to mention the exhaustion that the holidays bring. That inevitably it can take a few weeks to get back into the flow of working again.
So if you havenโt planned your 2023 strategy please do not worry, in this post I will share 6 top tips to get your year plan in place plus scroll to the end for a FREE workbook download.
1. Review 2022
Write down all the amazing things you achieved in 2022. In order to move forward we must first look backwards.
- Personal
- Business
- Wealth
What contributed to your success? What did you do that was different? In short how did you make it happen? Was this the result of new habits, automation, and increased prices.
What service / product flopped? All top entrepreneurs have had failures. Rather than viewing your failures as a sign to give up, reframe them as short-term setbacks to help you learn from your mistakes
What are your learningโs from the above? Be honest. Has fear stopped you? Was it lack of time? Or perhaps there is an element of blame (someone else or you?)
2. Set goals so big they scare you
All too often we set goals that are safe. We choose goals we know we can achieve and although thatโs great being able to tick off your list. Will achieving the safe goals light you up? Will they make you jump with joy in excitement? Or will they just make you shrug your shoulders in acceptance.
What is your ultimate goal for the year? Think big and push yourself out of your comfort zone.

3. Think about the HOW
Next step is writing those goals down and I encourage you to look at all 3 areas as listed below. Think about when in the year these goals will be implemented, it can be easy to set beautiful goals but not actually think about when in the year they will be actioned.
- Personal
- Business
- Wealth
Once you have decided on the WHEN think about all the steps needed to complete these goals. Break the goals down into tangible chunks and think about:
- Who will complete the task? You, a team member or outsourced expert
- Is there a cost associated?
- How long will each task take approx..? This helps you re-evaluate any deadlines and adjust
- Final step is to transfer all goals for quarter 1 into your 90 day planning document. See link at the bottom for a blog post on exactly this with FREE download
4. Visualise Goals
Iโm a big believer in visualising your goals, so once you have written out all your goals think about how you can be connected to these goals. Having them written down and hidden in a drawer is no use to you. Here are some ways I do exactly this.
- I enter the top goals like launches onto my door planner
- I create my vision board to represent my top dreamy goals
- Each month I add my goals to my whiteboard opposite my desk which are always aligned with my yearly goals
5. Think about the support you need?
It can be hard to relinquish any control, however there will come a point where you realise in order to โhave it allโ you cannot possibly โdo it allโ. Therefore part of being a successful entrepreneur is learning what tasks are important and what can be outsourced. Itโs about learning where your time is best spent and ensuring you are as productive as you can be.
What tasks drain you? Which ones take you so long to complete? What leaves you staring at the screen in frustration? Can any of these be ditched or outsourced?
Read this blog article about zone of genius to understand why this is important.
6. What is your financial target?
When reviewing your goals, have you set yourself a financial target? If not do it now! All often people will have a ยฃ target but donโt think about how to bring that in. So write down everything you already sell and want to sell and think about the price point and how many you will sell.
So go take yourself somewhere quiet and start working through your goals. Use my FREE template to help you and click on the links below for other that will support you.
