Working as a wedding entrepreneur can feel isolating especially out of “wedding season”. There are days when we want to meet fellow wedding professionals just to talk through the lows and highs of being in this fast paced industry. Of course with social media and online memberships, it can feel like we have colleagues sitting right next to us, but at times we need some face to face chats – not to mention the caffeine!
Which is why I launched Wedding Coffee and Chat in London and Essex. I envisage this as a monthly morning of networking to build friendships but also nurture possible referral systems.
10 years later..
I’m not new to this. In fact I originally launched a Wedding Coffee Morning in 2014 for the UKAWP and ran this until 2020. Our coffee mornings were well received and I know incredibly beneficial for those attending. When reflecting on the last few years I realised I have missed connections I once had from meeting people in real life. After all a real hug is better than a virtual one. And from many discussions with others it seems I am not alone.

Regardless of when you launched, you’ll benefit from speaking to others who are as equally passionate about their business as you. Lets face it, sometimes our friends and family just don’t “get it” and as much as they love us, they don’t truly understand our concerns.
So join the list below to keep updated with the latest events or follow on social media.
Locations
To begin with the coffee mornings will be in London and Essex.
Kings Cross, London
The London ones are co-hosted with the lovely Nicola from ProposePR who has been my agent many times over the last 20 years although not working together presently. The London ones are held in the Drake and Morgan Kings Cross bar and will be free to attend. All we ask if you purchase your own drink. Keep an eye on my facebook page for future coffee mornings.
25th April, Kings Cross – I’m sorry but we have had too cancel the April London coffee morning
We are delighted to host our third coffee morning at Kings Cross. This is more relaxed than the Essex ones thus no masterclass, more casual chats and caffeine. No charge to attend, just buy yourself a coffee! All we ask is you register interest so we can reserve a large enough space, just head on over to my facebook page
Venue: Drake + Morgan , 6 Pancras Sq, London N1C 4AG
Essex
The Essex coffee and chat will be held at the Bakelicious Cafe in Coggeshall OR at wedding venue on occasion. These are hosted by myself and run a little different to the London ones. A 20 minute masterclass will be included along with open Q&A discussions and if held at a wedding venue staff will be available to offer show rounds.
13th May St Osyth Priory
Our third Wedding Coffee and Chat in Essex will be held at St Osyth Wedding Venue. No charge to attend, I just ask you RSVP HERE
1) Tea or coffee
2) 20 minute masterclass: When clients ask for discounts, what does this mean? And how can you respond?
3) Hotseat Q&A / Open Discussion
4) Connecting with fellow wedding professionals
Venue staff will be on hand to answer any questions about St Osyth Priory and offer a show round for anyone that hasn’t visited before.
Venue: St Osyth Priory, West Field Lane, Essex CO16 8GW Please read instructions on getting to the venue via their webpage
Keep an eye on my facebook page for upcoming coffee mornings.
What’s the purpose?
Caffeine! No seriously there is no ulterior motive, I just thought it would be nice to meet more people from within the wedding industry, face to face. And since closing the UKAWP I no longer have all the wedding gossip I once did 😉 To understand more about why networking is good for business read this article on “Collaboration in the Wedding Industry“.
Upcoming Dates
25th April (London), 13th May (Essex). But if you join our coffee list I will keep you posted.
